What to Expect
Groomed at their pace. Never rushed. Never crowded.
From your first appointment to your dog's regular grooming routine, here's what to expect at Fourfold Canine Wellness.
Your Dog's Grooming Appointment, Step by Step
1. Book Your Appointment
New to Fourfold? We'll start by getting to know your dog, their grooming history, individual needs, and any concerns before scheduling their first visit. This helps me recommend the appropriate service and appointment time.
Returning clients can book their regular grooming appointments directly through the online booking system.
2. Before Your Visit
Complete the Consent & Safety Agreement and provide proof of your dog's current rabies vaccination. You'll receive appointment details and reminders to help you prepare for your visit.
3. Drop-Off
I'll welcome you and your dog, review your grooming goals, and discuss any changes or concerns. I'll also assess their skin, coat, ears, and nails as part of the grooming process. We'll establish a pickup time so you know when to return.
4. The Groom
One dog. One groomer. One focus.
Your dog's comfort, safety, and individual needs guide the grooming process. Some dogs may need a modified approach, shorter sessions, or additional accommodations.
If your dog becomes uncomfortable or grooming cannot safely continue, I'll prioritize their well-being over achieving a perfect finish. We'll discuss what was accomplished and the best approach for future visits.
5. Pickup, Checkout, and Next Steps
Please return at your scheduled pickup time unless I've contacted you about a change.
At pickup, we'll talk about how the groom went, anything I noticed about your dog's skin, coat, ears, or nails, and recommendations for at-home care. We'll also discuss an appropriate grooming schedule or any adjustments that may help with future visits.
Payment is completed at checkout.

Grooming Policies
-
Each appointment is reserved exclusively for your dog. Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.
Late cancellations and no-shows are charged 100% of the scheduled service fee. Two or more occurrences may require prepayment for future appointments.
Appointments lasting one hour or longer include a 10-minute arrival grace period. For shorter appointments, late arrivals are handled at my discretion and may require rescheduling, with the full service fee still applying.
Fees may be waived at my discretion for special circumstances.
-
Proof of a current rabies vaccination is required before grooming. No additional vaccinations are required by Fourfold. Appointments may be postponed if documentation is unavailable.
-
Please reschedule if your dog is unwell or may have a contagious illness. Dogs with certain medical or physical conditions may require veterinary clearance before grooming.
-
Please disclose any history of biting, anxiety, handling sensitivities, or previous grooming difficulties.
I use humane, gentle handling techniques and may use a muzzle when necessary for safety. Fourfold does not provide sedation.
If grooming cannot be completed safely, the appointment may be modified or ended early.
-
Every dog deserves patience, understanding, and care that respects their individual abilities.
I work with senior, anxious, and special-needs dogs to the best of my ability, adjusting my approach based on what each dog can comfortably and safely tolerate.
Some appointments may require additional time, a modified grooming plan, or a shorter session. We'll discuss appropriate options, scheduling, and any additional costs beforehand.
The finished groom may not always be cosmetically perfect, and that's okay. Your dog's comfort and safety will always take priority.
-
Fourfold is a dematting-free grooming salon.
Severe matting can pull painfully on the skin, restrict movement, and conceal underlying skin concerns. Rather than subjecting dogs to prolonged or uncomfortable dematting, I prioritize humane coat care.
For single-coated breeds, removing a matted coat with a shorter haircut is often the most comfortable option. Hair grows back, and your dog's well-being matters more than preserving length.
Double-coated breeds require additional consideration, and we'll discuss the condition of your dog's coat and the most appropriate options before proceeding.
I'll always explain what I find, discuss your options, and recommend an approach that prioritizes your dog's comfort and coat health.
-
If any live fleas are discovered during your dog's appointment, a mandatory $150 flea sanitation fee will automatically apply.
This fee covers the additional cleaning and sanitation required throughout the grooming salon to help protect the environment and other clients. It is not an optional service or a flea treatment package.
I'll contact you to explain the situation and let you know about the additional charge. Flea treatment and ongoing prevention should be discussed with your veterinarian.
-
If your dog requires urgent veterinary attention, I'll make every reasonable effort to contact you immediately.
If you cannot be reached, emergency veterinary care may be sought in accordance with the authorization provided in your Consent & Safety Agreement.
