Clarity Backed by Expertise
From first groom to golden years, Fourfold is here for your dog.
-
One dog. One groomer. One focus.
Fourfold is an appointment-only, one-on-one grooming salon where your dog receives my undivided attention throughout their appointment. No crowded grooming rooms, unnecessary kennel time, or juggling multiple dogs.
You'll have a scheduled drop-off and pickup time, so you know exactly when to return. If anything changes during your dog's appointment, I'll contact you.
-
Fourfold is based in Madison, Wisconsin. Appointment location details are provided once your booking is confirmed.
Plans for a dedicated Madison grooming space are underway, and current clients will be the first to know about any changes.
-
You can request your grooming appointment online through Fourfold's booking page. Select the service, date, and time that work best for you.
All appointment requests are reviewed before confirmation. Once I approve your request, you'll receive confirmation through Square.
If your dog is new to Fourfold, please complete the New Dog Intake Form before your appointment. Returning clients bringing a new dog will also need to complete a separate intake for that dog.
-
That's completely okay! Every dog is different, and choosing the right service isn't always straightforward.
Reach out with a little information about your dog, and I'll help you determine the best option. We'll also discuss your dog's coat condition and grooming goals at drop-off.
-
Absolutely! I offer complimentary consultations for new clients who would like to discuss their dog's grooming needs before booking.
Consultations typically take about 15 minutes and can be arranged in person when appropriate. Many questions can also be handled conveniently by email.
Whether you're concerned about your dog's coat, behavior, previous grooming experiences, or simply want to know what to expect, I'm happy to talk it through.
-
Before your dog's first appointment, you'll need to complete the Consent & Safety Agreement and provide proof of a current rabies vaccination.
No additional vaccinations are required by Fourfold. Your agreement remains on file for future visits, although updated information or documentation may be requested when needed.
Please also share any relevant medical conditions, medications, handling sensitivities, or behavioral concerns.

Yes, I work with dogs of different ages, temperaments, and individual needs to the best of my ability.
Some dogs may require adjustments to their grooming routine, a modified haircut, shorter sessions, or additional time. I'll work with you to determine what's appropriate for your dog and discuss any scheduling or pricing considerations beforehand.
My priority is always your dog's safety and comfort, even if that means the finished groom isn't cosmetically perfect.
Fourfold does not provide sedation. If grooming cannot be completed safely, we'll discuss the best next steps.
-
Puppies can begin their grooming introduction once they have received age-appropriate vaccinations and meet Fourfold's vaccination requirements.
Because Fourfold is a low-volume, one-on-one salon, your puppy won't be sharing their grooming appointment with other dogs. This helps limit exposure and provides a quieter environment for learning.
I recommend introducing puppies to grooming early and maintaining a consistent, closely spaced schedule during their first several visits.
The goal is to make grooming a familiar, positive part of everyday life rather than an occasional experience that feels unfamiliar or intimidating.
Puppy Intros are available for dogs under six months.
-
There's no one-size-fits-all grooming schedule. Your dog's coat type, lifestyle, shedding patterns, skin condition, and the maintenance you provide at home all play a role.
As a general starting point:
Single-coated breeds requiring haircuts: Approximately every 6–8 weeks, depending on coat length and at-home maintenance.
Double-coated breeds: Often every 10–12 weeks, although more frequent appointments may be beneficial during heavy seasonal shedding.
Bath & Brush: Based largely on your dog's lifestyle, coat condition, and personal preference.
I'll help you establish a schedule that works for your dog and keeps their coat comfortable and manageable between appointments.
-
Every full-service grooming appointment includes coat- and skin-appropriate shampoo, hand dry, brush out, anal gland check, ear cleaning, and nail trim.
I also pay attention to your dog's skin, coat, ears, and nails throughout the appointment and share any relevant observations at pickup.
Specialty conditioning treatments and additional grooming enhancements are available for an additional fee.
-
Published grooming prices are starting estimates based on your dog's approximate size. Final pricing may vary depending on:
Coat condition: Matting, excessive shedding, or additional coat preparation.
Coat type and density: Thick, long, or complex coats that require additional grooming time.
Individual handling needs: Additional time or accommodations for dogs requiring a modified grooming approach.
Optional add-ons: Specialty conditioning treatments, nail dremel, teeth brushing, and other enhancements.
Live fleas: A mandatory $150 salon sanitation fee applies if live fleas are discovered during the appointment.
I'll discuss anticipated pricing adjustments before grooming begins whenever possible. If something unexpected is discovered during the appointment, I'll contact you to explain the situation and any applicable additional charges.
-
Fourfold takes a dematting-free approach to grooming.
Matting can be uncomfortable or painful, pull on the skin, and conceal underlying skin concerns. I don't believe in subjecting dogs to prolonged or painful dematting simply to preserve coat length.
For single-coated breeds, a shorter haircut is often the most humane option. Double-coated breeds require individual consideration based on their coat type and condition.
Severely matted coats may require additional preparation, careful removal, grooming time, and equipment maintenance. Additional matting-related fees may apply.
I'll assess your dog's coat, explain the available options, and discuss any additional charges before proceeding whenever possible.
-
If any live fleas are discovered during your dog's appointment, a mandatory $150 salon sanitation fee automatically applies.
This fee covers the additional cleaning and sanitation required throughout the grooming salon to help protect the environment and other clients.
I'll contact you to explain what was found and notify you of the charge. This fee is not a flea treatment or a substitute for veterinary-recommended parasite prevention.
-
Please reschedule if your dog is feeling unwell or may have a contagious illness.
If I notice something concerning during grooming, I'll prioritize your dog's safety, modify or stop the appointment when necessary, and contact you to discuss the situation.
If urgent veterinary care is needed, I'll make every reasonable effort to contact you immediately. Emergency care may be sought according to the authorization provided in your Consent & Safety Agreement.
-
Each appointment is reserved exclusively for your dog. Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.
Late cancellations and no-shows are charged 100% of the scheduled service fee. Two or more occurrences may require prepayment for future appointments.
Appointments lasting one hour or longer include a 10-minute arrival grace period. For shorter appointments, late arrivals are handled at my discretion and may require rescheduling, with the full fee still applying.
Fees may be waived at my discretion for special circumstances.
-
